Ricardo Banderas, nicknamed Rico, is the massive demi-human and champion of gear battling of Nortune, the Imperial capital of Kislev. He has a sturdy reputation and is respected in his country; often revered as the "Champ". Rico's immense size can be frightening, adding the fact that he possess superior strength, makes him one fearsome brute. Rico was once human prior to his mutation, his mother died while he was a child. Rico grew up being hated and mocked by others around him, most especially when the Kaiser of Kislev, Sigmund, lash out his anti-demihuman sentiments. After his mother's death, Rico became a criminal and found his way into the Prison D-Block. Rico hated the Kaiser so much, and this grew even stronger with the Ethos' insinuations, manipulating him into assassinating the Kaiser. But unbeknown to him, the Kaiser is actually his father. This was hinted out when he was able to enter the Kaiser's room where only the Kaiser's bloodline could enter, and was later on confirmed by Hammer and his network of information.
Rico's power and skill makes him Battler material, and he became the reigning champion of Kislev for many years. This was until he was defeated by Fei Fong Wong in gear combat. As a character, he happens to be the strongest when it comes to strength, but the slowest when it comes to speed. Most of his ethers are in the form of Support Ethers that can furthermore boosts up his already powerful attributes. Rico is a character not to be trifled with.
Attacks
Rico's attack comes in different forms and is affected by the type of button press. Rico's Triangle button attacks come in four forms when inputted in succession. The Square button delivers kicks while the X button launches a powerful charged blow. Unfortunately, the X button attack has a tendency to miss. Shown below are how each attack button is delivered.
Death Blows
Rico has 10 deathblows overall, with 7 of them as standard deathblows and 3 of them as ether-imbued. The ether-imbued deathblows can only be learned after the Shevat event wherein Gaspar removes the Limiter. For more information on Rico's deathblows see Deathblow table.)
Spirit
Rico's ether specials are in the form of spiritual energy. It also consumes ether points or EP. Rico doesn't have much of these specials as he is more of a physical fighter. As a result, he only has four. (For more information on Rico's Spirit specials see Ether Attack List.)
